Green’s expertise has more than spoken for itself, with Murray winning Olympic gold at London 2012 and two Grand Slams – the US Open in 2012 and Wimbledon in 2013 – while working with the conditioning expert.
Meanwhile, Zverev was able to the ATP Finals, make his first Major final at last year’s US Open, and most recently go on to capture Olympic gold in Tokyo.
Now, Thiem looks to follow in the footsteps of the players who have triumphed with the 49-year-old in their camp, with Green reportedly travelling to Austria to work on the US Open winner’s strength and fitness.
According to DerStandard, the world No 6 is in a three-week test phase with the British coach, who is not yet a permanent member of the Thiem camp.
However, with just 18 days until the US Open it looks to be touch-and-go on whether the Austrian can return to the court he saw success on just 12 months ago.
