Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm stars Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen. She features in the series alongside her husband Clive and their nine children who also help to run Ravenseat Farm. Amanda’s job isn’t only to take care of the land and livestock as she has got another stream of income coming in.
How far is Amanda Owen’s The Firs from Ravenseat Farm?
Amanda and her family spend most of their time at Ravenseat which is the main backdrop in Our Yorkshire Farm.
Ravenseat is a working sheep farm in Upper Swaledale in North Yorkshire and is around 2,000 acres.
Despite living on the land, Amanda and Clive do not own the farm as they rent the property and look after the land on behalf of billionaire Robert Miller.
There is another property that the pair own that they themselves rent out as a holiday home.

In one of her books, Amanda first thought about buying the farmhouse so she and the family could live there.
She said: “Immediately surrounded by its own fields and not bothered by any neighbours, it looked like paradise.
“Unfortunately, its price reflected this desirability. Over half a million quid!
“The Yorkshire Dales was a popular place for second homes and, with only a limited number of houses and a seemingly infinite number of potential buyers with a lot of money, it seems that once again my dream would be thwarted.”
But in the end, the couple did purchase the property but use it as a rental home for holiday-goers rather than their own second home.
