The legendary comic and actor has confirmed the procedure went well in her latest Instagram post on Tuesday. Meanwhile, NCIS’ Pauley Perrette, who portrayed Abby Sciuto for 15 seasons of the CBS drama, recently took to Twitter to pen her support.
Pauley Perrette has voiced her support after Kathy Griffin announced she had been diagnosed with lung cancer via an Instagram post on Monday, August 2.
The comedian revealed she was about to undergo surgery to have ‘half of her left lung’ removed, despite the fact she has never smoked.
Amongst the outpouring of well wishes from her fans, Perrette took to Twitter the following Tuesday with a touching message for her Hollywood friend.
The NCIS star wrote: “Love my pal @kathygriffin. She’s smart, kind, speaks her mind and stands up for Women, LGBT etc.”

“Hopefully no chemo or radiation after this and I should have normal function with my breathing.”
Kathy Griffin was diagnosed with stage one, among the earliest stages of cancer diagnosis.
This means a tumour will still be relatively small and won’t have spread too far around the body.
Griffin’s post also confirmed she is fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and warned of further complications which could arise for cancer patients who had not received a vaccine.
