The cameras then cut to Simone leaving the arena with her coach as Hazel continued: “She was clearly unhappy with her performance.
“We’re not sure what’s happening here but the fourth gymnast in that USA team, Jordan Chiles, has put the grips on which means she’s limbering up for the next piece of apparatus.”
However, Simone soon returned to the arena with moments to spare but still didn’t take part in the bars and pulled out of Team USA’s team events.
