Emmerdale airs on ITV and long-standing fans will remember vet Paddy Kirk has been on screens for a long time. Before starring in the soap, he played roles in The Bill and Inspector Morse. The actor had another interesting job previously, and this venture is how he met his wife.
Who is Dominic Brunt’s wife?
The actor, who is a huge fan of the horror genre, has produced some horror films in the past.
He directed the movies with his wife, Joanne Mitchell, and the star opened up about working with her.
Mitchell has also had a number of roles in Emmerdale, alongside her husband, since 2003.
She played DS Karen Banborough in two episodes, as well as midwife Yeo in 2006 and Susan Davies in 2009.
Joanne also took over the role of Liv’s (Isobel Steele) mum Sandra Flaherty in 2016.

Speaking about working with his wife, the actor told The Mirror: “It started as a chance for us to do something together – we’re both film nuts so it seemed like the right thing to do.
“We love working together and the first film we did has been sold on to Japan, New Zealand, America and Canada; it was meant to be this silly thing and it’s really taken off.”
He worked on and starred in the horror film Before Dawn in 2012, and directed Bait in 2014.
Wife Joanne has also taken on acting roles in medical dramas such as Casualty, Heartbeat and Doctors.
She also made appearances in soaps like Coronation Street and Waterloo Road.
She trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, which is where she met her future partner.
She wrote and produced two short horror films titled The Mighty Witch Killers of Pendle Hill and Shell Shocked.
In August 2021, Brunt opened up about his marriage to Joanne, the birth of their son Danny and his surgery.
He told This Morning: “He’s absolutely fine now. At the time it’s the most horrific thing to have to go through as a parent and obviously as a child, but he’s football-mad now, he’s completely fine.
“He has check-ups once a year for the rest of his life, but thankfully Leeds Royal Infirmary were great and the children’s heart surgery fund have been great.”
Joanne may also be recognised in the films Before Dawn and Habit, and she is also known for her theatre roles.
She has starred in versions of Hamlet, Macbeth, Jungle Book, Romeo and Juliet and Stags and Hens.
The star has also taken on a number of characters for Radio, including Ada Reese in BBC Radio Four’s Writing the Century II.
Emmerdale airs at 7pm on ITV.
